God has a Purpose for our lives

God loves us and has a purpose for our lives. The Bible states it this way: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). God's purpose is that we have eternal life. God gives eternal life as a gift (Romans 6:23).

• He makes it possible for us to live a full and meaningful life right now (John 10:10).

• He makes it possible for us to spend eternity with Jesus in heaven (John 14:1-3).

 

God knows our need
As we search for meaning in life, we discover our sinful nature keeps us from fulfilling God's purpose for our lives.

• We are all sinners by nature and by choice: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

• We cannot save ourselves. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

• We deserve death and hell. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

 

God provides provision for our lives
God is holy and just and must punish sin. Yet He loves us and provides forgiveness for our sins. Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6).

• Jesus is God and became man (John 1:1, 14).

• Jesus died for us on the cross (1 Peter 3:18).

• Jesus was raised from the dead and is alive today (Romans 4:25; 6:9-10).

 

We need to respond toward HIM to receive HIM
The only way Jesus can affect our lives is for us to receive Him. The Bible says, "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).

• We must repent of our sins. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out" (Acts 3:19).

  • Repentance is not just feeling sorry for our sins.

  • Repentance is turning away from our sins and turning to God through Jesus (Acts 26:20).

• We must place our faith in Jesus (Ephesians 2:8; Romans 3:22).

  • Faith is not just believing facts about Jesus (James 2:19)

  • Faith is trusting in Jesus as Lord (the One who directs our lives) and Savior (the One who provides forgiveness of sin). "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, 'Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame"  (Romans 10:9-11)

He needs our commitment
As you respond to God's call to growth, you will begin to see the fruit of the Spirit being developed in your life (Galatians 5:22-23). Perhaps you can identify one or more aspects of the fruit of the Spirit which are lacking in your life. Are you ready to ask God to work in you to help you grow toward the fullness of His life? If so, you may want to pray the following prayer or a similar one:
"Heavenly Father, I want to be like Jesus. I confess all of my sins (you may want to name specific sins); I recommit myself to you as my Lord; and I ask you to work in my life to develop the fruit of the Spirit so I may become continually more mature in my faith." Father, you said, "That if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and is justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.  As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame in Romans 10:9-11.  Thank you Father for saving a sinner like me and now I will serve you for the rest of my life.

2. Step out on faith boldly with ask, seek, and knock and you shall receive in Jesus name by asking God to lead you to a spirit-filled church or ministries that you can be fed and you will be willing to serve Him to the fullness.
3. Commit yourself to read his word daily along with praying daily unto the Lord.     
4. Upon being led to a body of Christ by God (church), serve and stay committed as a servant unto the Lord, regardless of what is going on with you or around you. God is faithful and he will never leave you or forsake you, as he has said in his word that he would send us a comforter.
5. Finally, expect to do better with Christ than what you have ever done in your life if you just believe in Him. It's All About Him Both Now and Forever!!!
 

Rededication
God wants you to experience continuing growth in Him, but you may have come to a point in your life, in which you are recognizing that you are not as close to Jesus as you once were, or you may realize you are not growing with spiritual maturity. 

God has a purpose

• Jesus wants to be the Lord of all your life (Luke 6:46).

• God wants your life to be useful and joyful (John 15:5-11).

• God wants you to live in fellowship with Him (1 John 1:3-7).

• God wants to fill you with His Spirit (Ephesians 5:18).\

• God wants to equip you for ministry (2 Timothy 3:16-17).

• When you fail in your walk with Him, God wants to forgive you and restore you to a useful life with Him (1 John 1:9).

 

God knows our needs

• Sin may hinder our fellowship with God (Isaiah 59:2; Romans 8:5-8).

• We may have allowed conformity to the world to hinder the transformation God wants to produce in us (Romans 12:1-2).

 

God provides provision for our lives
God offers six major resources for transformation and spiritual growth:

• God uses Scripture to set believers apart and equip them for His purposes (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

• Spiritual disciplines, such as prayer, Bible study, worship, fasting, witnessing, and serving help us to grow (1 Corinthians 9:24-27).

• Family and home influences may encourage us toward spiritual growth (2 Timothy 1:5).

• The church, as the body of Christ, encourages all to reach maturity in their faith and knowledge of Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-15).

• God works in all circumstances of life to bring us to Christlikeness (Romans 8:28-29).

• God disciplines His children to transform us into the likeness of Jesus (Hebrews 12:10).
  Remember, although God provides these resources for growth, our spiritual growth does not come through our own efforts; it comes by God's grace, through faith, just as salvation does (Colossians 2:6-7).

 

We need to respond toward HIM to receive HIM

• Confess any known sin (Proverbs 28:13; 1 John 1:9).\

• Recommit your life to the lordship of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:58; 1 Peter 3:15).

• Yield yourself daily to Jesus and experience the fullness of His life in you as you continually grow toward spiritual maturity (Romans 6:12-13; Galatians 2:20).

 

He needs our commitment
